A Path to Renewed Confidence
What Is Pro-Nox?

At Vein-ity, we understand that undergoing any medical procedure can cause anxiety or discomfort.

That’s why we’re proud to offer Pro-Nox, a safe and effective way to manage pain and anxiety during your treatment. While Pro-Nox offers exceptional benefits, it’s important to note that it is not covered by insurance. However, it’s an affordable option and can often be covered by Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) or Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Pro-Nox is a self-administered gas mixture of 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen, similar to the “laughing gas” you’re familiar with from the dentist.

It’s a non-addictive option that provides rapid relief from pain and anxiety without sedation. Pro-Nox wears off quickly, allowing you to resume normal activities, including driving, within as little as 10 minutes. Whether you’re nervous about needles, worried about the procedure itself, or simply prefer a more relaxed experience, Pro-Nox can help. It provides relief from both pain and anxiety, allowing you to focus on your comfort and well-being during your treatment. You’re in complete control, since you’re the one holding the mouthpiece.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who Can Use Pro-Nox?

Pro-Nox is safe for most patients. However, there are a few contraindications. Please inform our staff if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Anemia
  • B12 deficiency
  • COPD
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • If you’re in the first-trimester of pregnancy, if you’re intoxicated, if you’ve had recent eardrum surgery, or if you’ve had cataract surgery within the last 3 months.
How does Pro-Nox work?

Pro-Nox works by providing a calming and pain-relieving effect through a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen. You control the inhalation process by breathing through your own mouthpiece or mask, allowing you to adjust the level of relief as needed. The gas quickly enters your bloodstream, where it works to reduce pain and anxiety without causing sedation. Once you stop inhaling, the effects wear off rapidly, enabling you to resume normal activities shortly after your procedure.

Does Pro-Nox have side Effects?

Pro-Nox is generally very well-tolerated. Some patients may experience mild side effects like dizziness, lightheadedness, or a sense of euphoria, similar to having a few drinks. These effects are temporary and dissipate quickly. It’s important to note that Pro-Nox is not habit-forming and does not have any long-term side effects.

How is Pro-Nox different from laughing gas?

While Pro-Nox does utilize nitrous oxide, often referred to as laughing gas, there are key differences in how it’s administered and experienced.

  • Control: Pro-Nox puts you in control of your comfort level, allowing you to adjust the gas flow as needed. Traditional laughing gas administration typically involves a higher concentration of nitrous oxide and less patient control.
  • Concentration: Pro-Nox uses a balanced 50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen, while traditional laughing gas often uses a higher concentration of nitrous oxide.
  • Recovery: Pro-Nox wears off quickly, allowing you to resume normal activities, including driving, within minutes.
